Project Details

We are proud to have been a part of helping John Dolan School in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan build an inclusive and sensory-rich playground for their students and community.

As one parent at the school said of the playground, "this is the definition of inclusion."

Kathleen Underwood, the Principal of John Dolan School, believes the playground has multiple benefits for the students, saying "Besides the sheer joy of watching them play together on the playground, we recognize as educators the benefit and the challenge to their independence as they make choices and develop preferences for specific areas available to them on the playground. There are benefits to the student' personal and social wellbeing as they interact with each other, take turns and share the space with their peers and with visitors who staff and students encounter when they come out for playtime on the playground."

In 2019, this playground earned honors in the Design Council of Saskatchewan's Premier's Awards of Excellence in Design with our landscape architect firm partners, Crosby Hanna & Associates.
