2024 Update! Phase 2 at Hardisty School Playground in Edmonton is now complete, bringing even more play opportunities to the community. The highlight of this new build is a massive net climber—one of the largest and most unique in the city—offering endless climbing, balancing, and hanging challenges for adventurous kids.

The updated play space also includes two banks of swings: one with four standard swings and another with two saucer swings. An inclusive play area complements the original playground, featuring an in-ground merry-go-round, a spinning sun-catcher, and interactive sensory elements like musical and finger play panels.

The original playground remains a favourite, with a versatile obstacle-course-style design, three exciting slides, climbing features, and spinners. With a mix of wood chip surfacing and pour-in-place rubber, the playground is safe and accessible, while nearby benches and tables provide a welcoming place for families to gather.

Hardisty’s expanded playground is a vibrant, inclusive hub that combines classic play with bold new structures—offering something for every child to discover and enjoy.
