Teamwork Making the Dream Work: How we work with landscape architects, municipality planners and community leaders to bring parks and playgrounds to life

We build a lot of our projects with professional partners like landscape architect firms and urban or city planners. It’s a ton of fun to work collaboratively on finding the right play equipment and site furnishings like seating, shade, waste and recycling that will help bring our partner’s overall vision to fruition.

Municipalities, towns or landscape architects will often come to us with a design in mind for us to work with but if not, we help design their ideas with our own team of designers to help formalize the plan. We then work through our many, many products to find just the right fit for the space. Whether a design calls for traditional site furnishings or custom-built playground equipment, from inclusive designs to recycled material, we work closely with our clients to make sure we meet the specific needs of each park and every playground.

Recently, we worked with the landscape architect team at Stantec to bring a creative, modern look to a new build community in Saskatoon. Using shade sails, curved loungers and custom elements like a log cabin, we helped bring a unique, modern yet timeless aesthetic to their design. The park even earned an Honorable Mention at the 2019 Premier’s Awards of Excellence in Design.

Amber Lyons, Senior Landscape Architect at Stantec for the project, commented on the collaborative approach, saying:

“Shelley and the rest of the team at Park N Play...work as valuable team members on my projects and not only entertain my sometimes crazy ideas, but work with you to make award winning realities”.

She added,

“I need a team that puts in the same excitement, dedication and passion in my projects as I do.... Park N Play definitely exemplifies that. - Amber Lyons, Senior Landscape Architect, Stantec

Our goal is always to help our clients feel not only confident in but also excited by how their design will come to life with our bench of experts on their side and we’re so proud to help clients like Amber build beautiful, functional and fun places for communities to gather.
